Interactive BIM Visualisation for Anglia Ruskin University

Marconi in situ4

Seeable were commissioned to take the as built BIM of the Marconi building (scanned and modelled by Severn Partnership) and convert it into an interactive BIM visualisation application.

The BIM data was simplified and optimised (below) to enable simple non technical access to the model.  The resulting application can then be utilised by the facilities team, and explored by potential students looking to come to the university and get a feel for the facilities.

The Main lecture theatre was augmented with the university publicity video playing on demand when you enter that virtual room and will be added to over time to include other relevant information.

Architectural students as the university can now see how, going forwards they can progress from scaled architectural models, plans, sections and elevations to interactive visualisation for showcasing their designs and when in employment, use similar techniques to engage with potential clients and interested stakeholders.
